Spiderman Pencil Pouch and Change Purse

Post 6 of ? in the series, "Why I Haven't Blogged in Over Six Months"

I pretty much based the pattern for this pencil pouch on an existing pencil pouch and made up the details as I went along. The Spiderman decals were an experiment. They are actually temporary tattoos from the party favor section at Target. I applied them to the fabric following the directions for applying them to skin and then laminated the whole thing with some iron-on vinyl stuff. I was so excited when it worked that I decided to make a Spiderman change purse with the leftover pieces of fabric I had (those marks on the bottom seam are from a marker test I had done with the fabric- I thought I had calculated the seam allowance so that it wouldn't show but I must have been doing some wacky math- doh!). This method of embellishing fabric opens up so many possibilities it makes my head spin!
